Memories #1

Memories is a quiet series of comics and illustrations about growing up transmasc, filtered through fragmented childhood recollections. The work circles feelings of dysphoria, religious upbringing, and everyday loneliness, where a water heater hum or a priest’s passing comment could linger for years. These pieces don’t follow a linear story. Instead, they drift between moments: the embarrassment of body hair you secretly loved, emo music leaking from your sister’s room, anti-puberty prayers, awkward crushes on girls who felt like best friends, attempts to mirror romance from TV shows, aliens, tattletales, and Avril Lavigne. Each memory is small but sticky. Drawn from a time when language for these feelings didn’t quite exist yet.
